افتراضي Military Action Won’t Affect Federal Government Dialogue

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Azubuike Ihejirika said yesterday that , moves adopted by the Nigerian Army to save the country from internal and external threats, is not in any way impeding execution of Government policies, such as the proposed Dialogue with the Boko Haram Sect.


The COAS, stated this while declaring competent the additional 438 Batch 5 combatants of all ranks, drawn from the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) , trained on Basic Counter Terrorism and Counter- insurgency Course, at the Army Base camp, Kachia, Kaduna State.


Ihejirika, pointed out that although strategic policies and moves of government, with regards to dealing with terrorism did not rest with the Army, they would not relent in their efforts to check the trend which had beclouded the country. He stated, ‘we still have role to play in ensuring maximum protection and safety of our law abiding citizenry.
