The Peoples Democratic Party has asked the Federal Government to punish those indicted by the report of the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee on fuel Subsidy payments. The party therefore called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and other security agencies to act on the report.
A statement by the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Bamanga Tukur, on Tuesday said since the report had exposed monumental fraud in the oil sector, those indicted should not be allowed to go scot-free.

The statement reads, "The public hearing organised by the House of Representatives on fuel Subsidy provided Nigerians the opportunity to express their feelings and to make meaningful contributions during the probe. This is commendable.
"You are all aware that the report exposed monumental fraud and corruption in the oil sector. The National Assembly should be encouraged to carry out such investigations to assist in the fight against corruption.

"I call on the EFCC and other security agencies charged with the responsibility of handling the report to do a thorough job and prosecute all those indicted by the report in accordance with the law."
The PDP backed President Goodluck Jonathan's decision to implement the report, calling for a drastic action against those found wanting.
Meanwhile, Tukur has denied having any link with the $620,000 bribery scandal involving some members of the House of Representatives.
Tukur said there was no truth in the rumour that he advised against tendering the bribe money on the floor of the House before members went on recess.
He also denied the allegation that he prevailed on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Aminu Tambuwal, to stop the move, promising that the issue would be resolved in a family way.
Tukur, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Sherif Ujudud, told our correspondent that Nigerians should disregard the rumour.
He said, "The PDP chairman has nothing to do with the matter at all. It is a pure legislative issue that does not involve the party.
"We don't interfere with any issue that involves the legislature at all. So, if there is anyone with any proof that we were involved, let the person say."
