Gov. Yakowa Declears No Curfew From 12noon to 4pm. The 24 hour Curfew imposed on Kaduna State over the violence that erupted in the state following Sunday’s simultaneous bomb explosions in three Churches has been relaxed by four hours on Friday and Sunday for services only with the Curfew to revert back to 24 hours on Saturday as well as after Sunday.

Announcing the adjustment, the Governor called for fasting and prayers in the two days for peace and harmony. The Governor in a state-wide broadcast said people are free to move about during the hours of 12 noon on 4pm on Friday and are also free to move between the hours of 9am and 1pm on Sunday.
The Governor however declared that the 24 hours Curfew remained intact on Saturady, even as he advised citizens to remain indoors at the weekend.
The decision was reached after the State Security Council met for over five and half hours in Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna with top security chiefs in attendance.
Governor described the incidents of the past few days as “sad, unfortunate and uncalled for”. He thanked members of the security agencies, traditional, religious leaders and well meaning members of the society for their efforts in cooling tempers and stemming the tide of violence to enable the state have peace.
“It is therefore hoped that they use this opportunity to pray for peace, forgiveness of one another, healing to the wounded and comfort to the bereaved. It is further hoped that we would be orderly and peaceful as we go to observe our prayers at our places of worship and also return peacefully to our homes.
“The state government is appealing to Imams and Pastors to admonish their adherents on the need to ensure peaceful coexistence and tolerance for one another and to be our brother’s keepers, while all are advised to shun rumour mongering and ignore mischievous texts messages that are meant to cause further chaos in the state” he cautioned.
Members of the security agencies, who are on top of the situation he added, have been placed on red alert to avert any semblance of the breach of peace. He assured that the government is working round the clock for early and full restoration of peace and normalcy in the state and require the cooperation and support of all in that direction.
