CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (CORPORATE SERVICES)

Our client is a leading, highly respected Pension Fund Administrator that has built a culture of excellence and efficient service delivery in its business domain.



To build on its success and pedigree, we are currently seeking an excellent, highly experienced Executive who will work collaboratively with the MD/CEO to lead the business forward and provide direction and guidance for the organisation’s corporate services by ensuring efficient back-office operations, and provision of optimal support and control to front and middle office functions.



The ED (Corporate Services) will work as an integral member of the Executive Committee, and will oversee the day to day financial and administrative of the organisation, driving continuous improvement and business integration initiatives across operations, financial and client service to ensure that cost efficiencies are realized and the company’s impeccable reputation for delivering the highest levels of customer service and quality are sustained. He will be responsible for the Heads of the Finance, IT, Human Resources, Administration and Risk Management Departments. He will report to the MD/CEO, Audit Committee, and Board Risk Management Committee.



RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide strategic direction and guidance for the organisation’s Corporate Services.



2. Oversee the Human Resources function and develop HR strategies and service delivery models.



3. Manage the company’s organizational arrangement and recommend changes/improvements to EXCO as appropriate.



4. Oversee the procurement and facilities management processes and systems.



5. Oversee the financial and accounting operations of the organisation and ensure accountability, integrity and transparency of the financial management systems.



6. Oversee the risk management function and ensure adequacy of risk management systems for controlling and managing market & counterparty risks.



7. Ensure the organisation’s services and internal processes meet defined standards and quality.



8. Vet and approve divisional policies, procedures, controls and major operational decisions.



9. Vet and approve divisional budgets and expenses.



10. Vet and approve training plans and performance appraisals within the organisation.



11. Ensure that the organisation’s IT strategies and policies are being implemented.



12. Ensure continuous availability and effectiveness of business applications and technology infrastructure.



13. Carry out other duties assigned by the Managing Director/CEO.



REQUIREMENTS



1. Must be a member of any of the following recognized professional bodies namely: CIPM, CIA, ICAN, ACCA, ICMN, ICE, NIM, IT Certifications (OCP, MCDBA, MCSE, CCNP, CCIE) etc. An MBA is an added advantage.



2. Minimum of First degree or its equivalent in a numerate or semi-numerate discipline such as actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, accounting, economics, banking, finance, insurance, law and business studies.



3. Minimum of 18 years post qualification experience of which at least 13 must have been in the Financial Services Sector and 7 years of Top/Senior Management Experience.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (OPERATIONS)

We have an exciting, new opportunity for an accomplished, financial professional with excellent managerial skills to join the company and be responsible for continuously challenging and driving improvements in all operational functions of the organisation.



The ED (Operations) will have overall responsibility for providing guidance and direction for all investment activities, advising management on sustainable business and marketing strategies, ensuring that the organisation maximizes returns without unnecessary exposure to high risks, and providing essential services and operational support. He will be responsible for the Heads of the Business Development, Contribution/Collection, Benefits, Investment & Strategy, and Relationship Management/Customer Care Departments. He will report to the MD/CEO, Management Investment Committee and Board Investment and Strategy Committee.



RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Champion the design, development and execution of business strategies for marketing the organisation’s products and services.



2. Develop new products and services in line with the organisation’s vision and strategy.



3. Review market trends and make appropriate recommendations to enable management take key business decisions (e.g. markets, pricing and service delivery model).



4. Conduct market surveys to identify customers’ needs and monitor the impact of Business Development activities.



5. Build and maintain relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction.



6. Co-ordinate and manage the activities of the Customer Service Representatives.



7. Manage strategic relationships with key business partners including brokers, service centre location owners, closed PFAs and institutional clients.



8. Develop and execute the company’s portfolio management strategy and provide periodic advice on the optimal portfolio mix and individual portfolio components.



9. Recommend asset allocation mix to the Management Investment Committee (MIC) in line with Board Investment and Strategy Committee approved asset allocation bands.



10. Develop the organisation’s investment policies, processes and recommend modifications as required.



11. Monitor investments, economic conditions, markets and portfolio performance with respect to stated investment objectives/goals and make appropriate recommendations to the Management Investment Committee and Board Investment and Strategy Committee.



12. Carry out other duties assigned by the Managing Director/CEO.



EXPERIENCE

1. Must be a Chartered Financial Analyst or its equivalent and must have relevant experience in investment activities.



2. Minimum of First degree or its equivalent in a numerate or semi-numerate discipline such as actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, accounting, economics, banking, finance, insurance, law and business studies.



3. Minimum of 18 years post qualification experience of which at least 13 must have been in the Financial Services Sector and 7 years of Top/Senior Management Experience.



Desirable Traits



1. Practical knowledge of Asset/Funds Management.



2. In-depth understanding of local and international investment markets including:



a. Money Markets



b. Securities (Capital) Markets



c. Real Estate Markets



3. Deep knowledge of quantitative analysis, economics, portfolio management and asset valuation.



4. Insight and understanding of local and international practices in the Pensions/Asset Management Industry.



5. Relationship Management, Marketing & Selling Skills.

The CEO will have overall responsibility for strategic direction and daily operations, and will liaise closely with the Board of Directors, where the CEO will have a seat. He will be responsible for the Executive Directors, Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Chief Compliance Officer and Head, Internal Control & Audit. He will be accountable for the overall results of the organisation and responsible for the creation and leadership of the right organisational structure to deliver them.



RESPONSIBILITIES

3. Membership of relevant professional association will be an added advantage.
