NSCDC Graduates Batch 4 Squad - Anti-terrorism War

The additional 214 Graduates of the Basic Counter Terrorism Course Batch Four, drawn from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the balance of the Nigeria Army troops marked for deployment to Guinea-Bissua , have been warned not to compromise set standard in order to uphold the dignity of counter terrorism and insurgency. The warning was given yesterday against the worrisome backdrop of incessant ill behaviour of some security offices who, rather than adhere to set down rules and standards with high sense of responsibility, in most cases, abuse privileges offered them.

While congratulating the specially trained Graduates for meeting the required standard after four weeks intensive training, the chief of army staff, Lt. Gen Azubuike Ihejirika and guest of honour, at the graduation ceremony in Kachia, Kaduna State, who was represented by the commandant, Corps of Artillery Nigeria Army, Major General Amnon Kwaskebe, acknowledged that insecurity in the country had taken a different dimension, hence the need to urgently curb it by strictly adhering to the rule of engagement.

The army chief, however, expressed optimism that the intensive training would no doubt help the specially trained officers tackle effectively, the plague of insurgency which has eaten deep into the country since they have been trained based on international standards.
He regretted that apart from failing to make national security a priority, major stakeholders in the sector have failed to link their officers to the trend..

Reminding the officers that the centre was built as a strategy of training concerned security agencies on how to reduce the menace of terrorism in the country, charged them to carry out their duties aggressively, but with high sense of responsibility, even as he called on the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force to embrace the vision for outright victory over the ugly trend.
