Letter to Governor Ajimobi on retired teachers

It is with great joy that we, retired primary school teachers in Oyo State, congratulate you on your first year in office.
We pray that the good Lord will continue to be with you as you steer the ship of this state to economic prosperity.
We want to use this opportunity to intimate you with the problems retired primary school teachers have been facing since retiring from the state civil service last year.

The retired teachers have not been paid any money since they left government service.
As was being done, the retirees ought to start receiving their pension the following month after their retirement, while the gratuity is usually paid later. Since their retirement, nothing has been paid.

We have tried to get in touch with you on many occasions, but we have not been successful.
We know you are not aware of our plight, and that is why we are suffering at the moment. We have, therefore, decided that the best way to get in touch with you is to write an open Letter to you. With this, we will bypass many of the protocols that have stood in our way in order to table our plight before you.

Your Excellency, you are the Governor of our darling state, and we pray that you will succeed as you continue to work towards making the state the envy of all states in the country.
However, retired teachers are suffering. Since last year, most of them have resort to doing menial jobs
A number of them have also been given quit notices in their places of abode because they have no money to pay for rent.

It is also funny the way friends and relatives can desert one when it comes to the issue of money. Friends and relatives no longer pick the calls of these retired teachers because they feel they are calling to beg for money again.
I hope Your Excellency will come to our aid. May God bless you, sir.
