Kwara State Intend to Spend N200 Million On Five Hospitals

Ilorin — The Kwara State government has said that it would Spend more than N200 Million on the rehabilitation of Five general Hospitals across the state.

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed said this was part of his administration's strategic infrastructure objective of strengthening healthcare delivery in the state. The governor, who spoke at an event to mark the 2012 Omu- Aran day and N2 billion development fund launch by the Omu Aran community, said the Hospitals include the new Ilorin General Hospital, and those in Omu-Aran, Offa, Kaiama and Share.

He called for greater involvement of communities in self help projects for the acceleration of developmental efforts for speedy development of the state.

He described the people of the State as veritable stakeholders in the realization of his administration's prosperity programme. Alhaji Abdulfatah said development can be achieved not only through positive engagement with government policies, but also through communal self- help projects.

The governor said the 244 classrooms in the State owned schools were undergoing renovation in order to create a conducive atmosphere for learning.

In his address, president, Omu Aran Development Association, Chief Peter Oyinloye said the funds realized would be used for the rehabilitation of Omu Aran township roads, upgrade of facilities at Omu Aran High School and the construction of a modern palace for the traditional ruler of the town.
