4 December 2010 to 11 April 2011 was a period of double Presidency as a result of election dispute. Gbagbo refused to accept defeat in the Nov. election and is officially sworn-in. Outtara swears-in himself and is recognised by the UN and the international community. On 11 April 2011, Outtara forces backed by the UN and French forces in a gun battle arrested Gbagbo ending the season of double presidency. Outtara was officially sworn-in 6 May 2011.
