Amanfor Braces Up for Cup Final in Aba

Enyimba winger, Chimezie Amanfor has said that he is ready to face Abia Warriors, formerly known as OUK FC, in this Sunday’s Abia State FA Cup Final at the Enyimba Sports Stadium in Aba.

The state finals of the FA Cup (now known as the Federation Cup) will take place across some centres in Nigeria this Saturday and Sunday.

Amanfor is now bullish that the People’s Elephant will finish as winners in this year’s edition of the Abia FA Cup Final on the back of their impressive win in the semifinals against Golden Stars.

Enyimba won the semis by 4 – 0 with Amanfor getting a hat-trick and Mackson Ojobo scoring the fourth.

“Scoring three goals in a game especially the FA Cup is special for me. I am happy that we won in a very big way to prove that we are Enyimba. Now I am looking forward to the Final game against Abia Warriors on Sunday. We will play in a familiar ground and I hope I will get the chance to play in the final,” Amanfor told SuperSport.com on Friday.

Abia Warriors reached the Final of the Abia State FA Cup after edging out the Enyimba Feeders in the other semifinals.

In Ondo State, two Premier League clubs, Sunshine Stars and Rising Stars will battle for the Cup Final while it will also be a battle for the Cup title in Kwara State between two top flight sides, ABS FC and Kwara United.

Nigeria Premier League champions in 2006, Ocean Boys, reached the Final of the Bayelsa State FA Cup after beating Yenagoa FC 3 – 0 on Thursday and will wait to face either Nembe City or Bayelsa United, who were still locked in a semis duel.

The Lagos FA Cup, however, will enter its semifinal stage this weekend with Bolowotan FC going up against First Bank FC on Saturday and Nigeria National League (NNL) club, COD United facing non-leaguers, Fame FC on
