NFF Says No Break for Falconets

THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has stated that there won't be any Break for the national U-20 Women's side, the Falconets. The girls will head to their Abuja camp immediately they return from Harare, Zimbabwe, to prepare for the final round of the qualifiers for the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup slated for Japan. NFF Director of Competitions, Dr Mohammed Sanusi made this disclosure to NationSport in an exclusive chat. He congratulated Falconets for their qualification to the final round but admitted that all hands must be on deck to ensure that the team crosses the next hurdle in the winners of the tie between Mali and Congo DR.“We are happy they repeated what they did here in Nigeria in Harare and it was even sweeter that it ended with the same scoreline as in Abeokuta two weeks ago. “The NFF will not relent in the affairs of the team until they emulate the Flamingoes and bag the World Cup ticket. To this effect, there won't be any Break for the team now because there will be another Qualifier in the first week of May. They are going to continue with their training regimen on their return today (Monday). We don't want to take chances at all," Dr Sanusi enthused. The Falconets booked a place in the final round after a 3-0 demolition of Zimbabwea’s Young Mighty Warriors for the second time within two weeks for a 6-0 aggregate thrashing. The Nigeria team coached by Edwin Okon and assisted by Chris Nwaehi, Florence Omagbemi and Taiwo Ajobiewe will await the victors between Mali and Congo DR and the tie is slated for the weekend of 4-6 May for the first leg while the return fixture holds in the weekend of 18-20 May respectively. The winner on aggregate at the end of the third round contest qualifies for the Japan 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
