افتراضي Police Avert Crisis In Akwa Ibom

An early warning issued yesterday by the Amazaba community leaders in Eastern OPolice Avert Crisis In Akwa Ibomo in Akwa Ibom State to their sons not to retaliate an alleged attack by its neighboring Ikot Akpan Udo village averted what would have been another bloody Crisis between the border communities.


It was gathered that the Amazaba community was recently attacked at a burial ceremony by a group of people suspected to be villagers from Ikot Akpan Udo, when they went to bury one of their own, late Mrs. Marion Christian Nglass.


The state government in an attempted to Avert further loss of lives and property had ordered that the two warring communities should vacate their villages while it seeks a permanent solution to the recurring boundary disputes between the communities.


A statement jointly signed by the Chairman of Amazaba Council of Chiefs, Chief Job. James, Job and the Chairman Amazaba Development Council, Mr. Gad S. Gad, alleged that mercenaries from Ikot Akpan Udo attacked its burial delegation.
